This is possible using the Tools>Attachments button top right and will save a lot of hassle.  Of course upload sped is a function of the slowest link between your PC and the server but just leave it running.

If you do try it and it asks to load GOOGLE Gears - don't bother - this tool was withdrawn from the market by GOOGLE and is not longer supported.:

I recommend you install Motzilla FIrefox or Google Chrome etc
